Q. HOW LONG WILL MY FABRIC AWNING LAST?
Obviously the metal framework of your awning will provide
endless years of use under normal conditions, and can be easily recovered with new canvas
at a fraction of the original cost when that day arrives. HOWEVER.....
Today's acrylic woven fabrics are designed to provide the
homeowner with years of protection from rot, mildew and excessive fading. Sunbrella and
Dikson warranties these covers for a period of five years. Life expectancy, when cleaning
and care instructions are followed, should be 8 to 12 years.

Q. HOW DO I CLEAN MY AWNING?
Fabric should be cleaned regularly before substances such as
dirt, roof particles, etc. are allowed to accumulate on and become embedded in the fabric.
The fabric can be cleaned without being removed from the installation. Simply brush off
any loose dirt, roof particles etc; hose down and spray with a clean mild solution of
natural soap in warm water - using circular motions and a soft brush, work up a lather,
then rinse with the hose. Allow to air dry.
Water repellency re-treatment is recommended every few
years. Keeping the awning fabric sealed in this manner will help keep it cleaner by not
allowing dirt to become embedded in the fabric, as well as help the fabric to maintain
it's fresh appearance longer.
A full line of cleaning products are available for more
stubborn dirt through us, as well as your re-treatment supplies.

Q. CAN MY AWNINGS BE REMOVED EASILY?
With the exception of our retractable awnings, our awnings
are installed with only a few bolts and clamps making them very easy to remove for
painting or cleaning if desired.

Q. IF THERE ARE NO POLES, WHAT SUPPORTS THE RETRACTABLE
PATIO COVER?
Our retractable patio cover has been designed to be self
supported. This lateral arm style awning relies on secure mounting in conjunction with
spring loaded arms. The arm tension is created with internal springs and large radius
elbows will keep the fabric tight by applying outwardforce.

Q. WHEN WOULD I NEED A PROTECTIVE HOOD ON MY
RETRACTABLE PATIO COVER?
The optional hood, available at an additional cost, has been
designed to provide adequate unit protection when structural protection is not available.
Hoods are often purchased when our retractable is being roof mounted or fascia mounted and
when not located directly under a soffit or overhang.

Q. WHAT KIND OF WIND LOADS CAN THE RETRACTABLE PATIO
COVER HANDLE?
Retractable awnings are primarily for sun protection and
should not be left out in windy conditions. However, wind is an unpredictable force which
has a tendency to change direction and speed quickly. In "real life"
applicaations the general rule of thumb is: if you are comfortable sitting outdoors dining
or reading the paper, then it is probably safe to operate your awning. The concern with
wind is the up lifting effect on the awning rather than the downward force; therefore the
greater the pitch, the more wind resistant the unit is.

Q. WITH REGARDS TO MY RETRACTABLE AWNING, ARE THERE
ANY OTHER WEATHER CONDITIONS I SHOULD BE CONCERNED ABOUT?
Our retractable is primarily designed to protect you from
the harsh rays of the sun. This product is not designed for rain protection, however it
can be used in a drizzle or misting rains with proper unit pitch. In heavy or driving
rains or snow the unit must be retracted to avoid water from "pooling" on the
fabric and causing damage or irreversible fabric stretching.

Q. HOW WILL THE RETRACTABLE MOUNT TO MY HOME?
Our trained professionals locate the structural framework of
the home and predrill the mounting bracket holes through any siding to tie in directly
toeither the wall studs or headers. On roof mount applications, the installers tie into
the rafters, predrilling to avoid cracking and silicone caulking the hardware and brackets
to prevent leaks.

Q. WHY WOULD I WANT TO MOTORIZE MY RETRACTABLE PATIO
COVER?
Nothing could be more convenient than simply flipping a
switch and watching your retractable roll out effortlessly, Once fully extended or
retracted the unit will stop automatically. You may also stop teh retractable in any
potition with the wall mounted switch. Research has shown that a motorized awning if used
four times as much as a manual unit. If you don't believe us consider how many times you
would change the T.V. cahnnel if you didn't have a remote control.
